Joining Specie Bio as a provider is one of the easiest ways to turn your biospecimens and associated medical data into real impact. We have developed an AI-powered deep search engine to match providers and researchers for sample and data exchange - without making you reorganize your records or chase down collaborators. Our big-picture mission is straightforward: harness the potential of untapped biological samples and multimodal medical data globally. Whether you are an academic institute, health system, cancer institute, or a small clinic, Specie’s platform is built to help you share what you already have in a smarter, simpler way.
Step 1: Join as a provider partner
Firstly, there is no cost associated with on-boarding as a provider on Specie Bio’s platform.The first step is simply letting us know what you would like to contribute. This could be banked biospecimens, datasets, or your ability to support prospective sample collections. You do not need to reformat anything; our ingestion engine accepts any inventory metadata or summary data you already have in any format. During onboarding, you’re also able to share other relevant information to ensure a successful match: this includes, for example, any available consent forms, collection protocols, standard agreement templates (e.g. MTA/DUA), and cost structures for academic and industry researchers.
Step 2: Upload your inventory & metadata
Once you’re onboarded, you can provide any available inventory details and high-level patient population metadata. These attributes are what fuel Specie Bio’s AI matching engine. The more complete the data, the more precise and frequent your matches will be. This step ensures your banked samples, datasets, and capabilities are positioned to surface to the right researchers and minimize the manual work on your end.
Step 3: Let our AI model generate matches
Once your inventory information is ingested in the system and updated regularly, our engine automatically scans researcher requests (typically biospecimens and associated or stand alone data for therapeutics, diagnostics, AI and discovery research) and identifies which ones align with your inventory and mission. These Request Matches arrive directly to you - no searching, no outreach, no cold emails. You stay in control at all times: review the requests, approve the matches you deem best, and skip the rest.
Step 4: Connect directly with researchers
When you confirm a match, we connect you directly to the researcher. This creates transparency, trust, and a potentially long term collaboration path. We help streamline the agreement process, but you use your own terms, your own cost structures, and your own MTA/DUA templates. Importantly, Specie Bio is not a broker and does not store or handle samples or data - exchanges happen directly between you and the end researcher(s).
Step 5: Finalize, exchange, and collaborate
Once connected, you and the researcher(s) finalize the agreements and move forward with the sample and data exchange process. From there, you gain a new channel for collaboration, funding, and impact, while researchers gain access to the exact samples and datasets they need to advance their R&D goals.
